Carry On by Fun.

Hello there!

It's been, what, more than two months since my last post. Last semester was sooo hectic. Every week was hellweek. Imagine that. It's still our semestral break and I'm quite enjoying every second I have because a few days from now, hell's about to get loose (again!).

Last week, I went back to school to get all of my grades but one (our instructor who is a psychiatrist is currently in Israel and didn't leave the grades on hand to the faculty.) And so went our hearts palpitating fast as to who'll fail and what subject that is, if our futures are still illuminating as we fear they wouldn't be. Thank God I passed all of the subjects with the grades I got! Not a 3.0 in sight! Somehow, my hard work got in the way and I'm thankful for that.

But for others... Well... Some didn't make it with some certain major subjects that are tiring to repeat. Every classmate that went inside the office to get their grades are greeted with a hug when they came outside because knowing if that person fails or passed, he or she deserves a hug as a sign of thankfulness that he or she passed or as a sign of hope, that he or she can still do it in the second try.

There are 5 in our group and only 2 of us passed. It's hard to celebrate your success when everybody around you is shedding tears and feeling hopeless. And to think of it that we are close friends!  The higher years were right; that as you progress year after year in college, what's hard is the fact that there will be some people who will be left behind.

So, this song, is for all of you people out there who feel like they have a hard time, whether be it a failing grade in school or when you just feel alone, just know that there are people around you who you can count on. Life is an uphill journey. Even though only you can bring up your own success, you can never do it alone. Never give up and CARRY ON!

"If you're lost and alone, and you're feeling like a stone, CARRY OOOOON!"

Lessons From Mr. Grey

Hi there!

Midterm week has finally ended! Yey! As promised, I would post the lessons I got from reading the hit trilogy, Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James. Take note: Minus spoiler here! 'coz I won't be setting examples based from the book. So for those who haven't read the books, pleeeeaaassseee, start reading now.

Lesson #1: It's not what happened in the past that we should contemplate upon, but what should happen in the future.

The past is past. It has come and gone and will never be back unless you keep looking at it. Don't let your past consume you no matter how dark it is. Don't worry if you did, or even felt you did something wrong back then. So long as you keep getting better as time goes on, it will be okay. There is what we call forgiveness. That word is the most relieving to hear, feel and say. Everybody deserves it, you know, no matter how heavy the crime is. Because we need to move forward in our lives. Without forgiveness from others, and especially from ourselves, we would be stuck in our past, consumed by the misery of our actions... the guilt would keep on haunting us. By moving forward, we could change our actions and anticipate for a better day. As time runs by, the future would become the present, and eventually, the past. And when you decide to look back again, you would see the progress you had in years and the darkness would be waaay behind you because it'll be long forgotten.

Lesson #2: Everybody deserves unconditional love. No excuses.

There would be times you feel guilty of what you have done wrong and then you think you don't deserve to be loved. That's where you wrong. Everybody deserves to be loved. When you think you don't deserve a single drop of love from significant people around you, that's when you needed it the most. When you feel down and out, when you feel all alone in this big world, when you feel rejected and cast away, when you are at your weakest point. Love is everywhere if you deem it to be. And just like a mother loves her child, let us accept the imperfections of each and every person because with every hurt and pain and tear from that person comes a story, a story that should not be heard but should be listened to deep inside. Because every creature in this world is worth loving unconditionally.

Lesson #3: Even the strongest person has his vulnerabilities.

There goes that straight-A cheerleader in school who just won as school president and is currently dating the most handsome jock in school. See that billionaire stepping climbing on his private jet? Or that athlete wining gold medals after another one? Yes, the people you look up to by their looks, their money, their achievements. Their power. You wish you were them in their pompoms or in their jet or in their gold medals and how their life seems to be perfect. But it isn't. Pretty-looking, rich and talented people don't have the perfect life we see in them. They, too, have problems and insecurities and fears. They're just like you, too. What they have outside is a mask to their vulnerabilities haunting them. It's a way to show people that "my life is good" when actually it isn't. And the worst part is, those vulnerabilities lie on the most important things in life. So be thankful if your strength is the most important thing in your life because when everything that is easily seen is gone, you won't be crushed because you draw your strength from the simplest things in life.

And those are the main things that I've learned from Mr. Grey. There are also some other things like the sex education incorporated in the story and guides to understanding men from Ana's mother.
Got any lessons learned from the books? Share it with us so we may learn it, too.

Until then, feel the love!

Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy by E.L. James

Wait! Don't go there, yet!

I know most of you are gonna say the words controversial, too much sex, erotic, rated PG, poorly written, Twilight-y, and every word relating negative about it. Yes, those words describe the book. Too much sex everywhere. This trilogy could be one heck of some sex education. Someone even gave it a genre: literotica (literature and erotic combined).

But!

Ever considered the story? At first, I was curious about this book and that's what made me read it. I was warned by my roommate (who hasn't read it yet) that this is one controversial book because of its eroticism. I gave it a go since critics everywhere also piqued my curiosity. For a very conservative person like myself, I decided that if the first book is too much (and doesn't enchant me to go on) I would just stop there. But the first book actually left me hanging and makes me keep on asking the question WHY?. So, onto the 2nd book... and the 3rd book. And done!

The 2nd book made me cry... twice! The 1st book was like an introduction to Christian Grey's lifestyle so it wasn't that very inspiring to read. But the ending was very hanging, like I should read the 2nd book because if I don't, nothing would make sense. The 2nd book shows Christian's vulnerabilities. That was something that made me cry. The 3rd book was what completed Christian's inner conflict. Christian's conflict was revealed little by little in the whole trilogy that's why I kept reading because as I go on, Christian reveals another puzzle piece of his past until in the end, it was complete and it made me understand his situation as why he is like that.

As I stated above, I'm a very conservative person, meaning, I don't like very erotic books even though I'm at legal age to read them. But then, make this trilogy an exception because it wasn't all about the sex parts. It's the story underneath. I just skipped the gory details of the sex parts. And just like every other book I've read, there's always a lesson or more that I'd obtained from it.

But I'm busy as of the moment. I only sneaked a post this time. So that means my next post will be the things that I got from the trilogy. Right now, I recommend you read the books, as in the whole trilogy. Don't stop, just keep on reading and you'll know understand why.

Until next time!

Marry Me by Train Piano Tribute

Hi there!
It has been ages since I last posted. School has started and has welcomed us with sufferings. Not that I'm complaining... just sayin'. :)

But, anyways, I'm here! So this post today is something I would like to share with you. Last night, while I was studying for my exam, I decided to listen to piano music in YouTube. I always study like that and, no, I don't fall asleep in that kind of music. With my headphones on (my roommates don't appreciate classical music that well), I sunk into tranquility study.

After a few piano covers from popular music, I clicked this piano cover of Marry Me by Train, hoping nothing and just wanting to hear anything piano. As the piece went on, I stopped reading my notes because the music was filling into me. We all know this song is a very sweet and touching but take the lyrics and change it to piano mode, and you'll feel what I felt. It brought tears into my eyes without knowing the real reason why. Maybe it's the music, the song, I don't know.

I urge you to listen the music, just click play above, with a box of tissues. Recommended for couples. I may be zero balance in the love department, but this song swept me off. Not because I don't have someone to relate this to, but because I know my Creator is setting me the right man at the right man... soon. ;)

Quote from the Heart: Zooey Deschanel

You've seen her from the TV series New Girl as the quirky and fun-loving schoolteacher, Jess. I'll post about her character in the show sometime. Right now, it's this quote.

I saw this from Pinterest on a someone's board for funny pins. I don't know why this was deemed to be funny. Maybe if you take it in literally that waking up is really hard because it really is. But this blog sees things on a different angle and I got something to share.

When you get older, you realize the value of sleep. You don't want to lose contact of your bed. The sound of your alarm annoys you and sometimes gives you a bad mood for disturbing your sweet dreams. But we need to wake up every morning because life goes on and there are a lot of things to be done. With a cup of coffee, we can go forget sleep for a few hours.

What if we live in a world where we are greeted with a tight hug every morning when we wake up from our deep slumber? It would be heavenly, I guess.
Hugs are really nice, ain't it? The feeling of someone's arms around you demands warmth and the feeling of security and being precious to someone. And to have that first thing in the morning is such a blissful feeling; to have someone you love and care in your arms. Welcome to the ideal world.

Agree with me here: waking up requires great effort. But not everyone gets to do that. Let's not forget to thank every morning that we still had a chance to wake up, another 24 hours to touch other's hearts and be touched; to set our mistakes right. The present is a second chance of yesterday's mistakes. So, every time you open your eyes in the morning, with or without the sound of alarm, be grateful that you still have another day to live a better life. Because there are others who are willing to only they weren't given the chance.

If Everyone Cared by Nickelback

I think there hasn't been an MV on this song but I also think that you have heard this already. Anyway, let's discuss this song.

Just the title alone, I felt compelled to listen to this song. Usually, we all hear the songs first before we know their titles. It was different for me in this case. The song's about a guy so happy with the one he loves and he thinks that if others would love each other like they do, the world would be a better place. I agree on that thought. :) The song is somewhat rock so if this is not your genre, I still suggest you try to listen it, just once.

The first two lines says, "From underneath the trees, we watch the skies; Confusing stars for satellites" So, I tilted it a bit to give it a different meaning and this is what I came up with. Isn't it a nice feeling when you & your loved ones just lay on the grass and stare at the wonder of the starry sky? It's one of those beautiful moments when you want to pause that second and live in it forever.

In the refrain which goes like, "Amen, I'm alive"... well, it says it all. Why not try what the song did, and sing "Amen, I'm alive!". Be truly thankful that you are alive and still are. Because a thousand dead would give everything to be in your place. Be thankful that you have been given to experience more of life when others have not, the second chances that others don't have the opportunity.

Moving on to the chorus. There comes the many "if"s. What if everyone cared and loved and nobody cried and lied? And most of all, what if everyone shared and SWALLOWED THEIR PRIDE? And the last line of the chorus isn't literal. When the song went nobody'd die, it means nobody would die with an unfulfilled life. An uncontented life.

The best part is the bridge. It gave a lesson. I'll leave that for you to reflect on. :)

For the song's lyrics, click here. Listen to the music as well in the video above. There's also lyrics included in the vid. After you've hit 'play' a hundred times (really, I was hooked!), reflect on it. And share! Leave a comment below and tell me what you think!

A Little Intro

This would be a short introduction about this blog.

This blog was born on the perception of a young girl who has experienced a lot at such a young age. And if we say a lot, that means it's different from yours. I don't also mean that the world revolves only her, but that she would like to share her world with everyone. That girl understood too much. As for what she has already experienced, she is willing to share because from her experiences came out the happiness that she never realized in her. She looked at the world and its people at a different view, a different angle. And from there, she saw so many wonders, so many reasons, and so much to be understood.

Her inspirations and realizations came from different places, different people, different things. Even different songs. Movies and music. All this girl wanted was peace. There's not much peace in this world anymore. But this girl has, and although not consistent, she still bears it. But nobody knows it. Only she knows it, within herself.

Guess she thought it's about time to share it to others. She realized that peace and happiness is not something you keep for yourself. It's something you share with others; otherwise, you become a self-centered person. From people to places, to music and books, this girl derived her life lessons from these; big and small, popular and wallflower. You can learn everything from just one small thing.

So, hold her hand and walk with her. And you'll never where you'll end up and what you'll learn. I guarantee you, you'll never regret it.

Close your eyes and look up,
